40g. Forty Grams

For gyms

Stock the 40s. Keep 15% of every sale

High-protein bowls in a branded fridge we lend you. Sale or return at £9.00, the same as online: you keep 15% of every bowl you sell, and anything unsold comes back before its use-by date.

Why members want them

People who train want proper food they don't have to cook. Here's what they get from your fridge.

  • 40 g of protein or more in every bowl, with the protein, kcal, carbs and fat on the lid.
  • A proper meal, ready now. Cooked locally this week and never frozen, ready to eat straight from your fridge.
  • Cold or hot. Ready to eat straight from your fridge, with heating instructions on the label for home or work.
  • A fair price. £9.00, the same as on our website, so nobody feels stung for buying at the gym.
  • Three bowls: chicken poke, chipotle beef and a vegetarian paneer tikka.

Sale or return, two drops a week

  1. We fill your fridge

Start on 10 to 15 bowls a week. We drop twice a week and top up as they sell.

  2. Members pay £9.00

The same price as online. You take the money at your desk or till.

  3. You keep 15%

That's £1.35 on every bowl sold. Once a month we invoice you the other 85%: £7.65 a bowl.

  4. Unsold comes back

We collect it before its use-by date, and you only pay for what sells. The plan: it goes to a local charity that feeds people who need a meal.

What you earn

15% of every bowl you sell, £1.35 a bowl, with nothing to buy up front. Here's what that adds up to over a year.

  • £1,053 a yearSelling 15 bowls a week: £1.35 × 15 × 52.
  • £2,106 a yearSelling 30 bowls a week: £1.35 × 30 × 52.

Before the fridge's electricity (about £210 a year) and the card fees on what you take. An example, not a promise: it depends on how many bowls your members buy.

A free fridge, in our colours

We lend you a lockable, glass-door display fridge of about 218 litres, branded Forty Grams. We deliver it, install it and pay for any repairs. It stays ours.

  • Free at 15 a weekIt stays free while you sell at least 15 bowls a week, averaged over four weeks, once you're past an eight-week start.
  • Reviewed below 15If sales drop below 15 a week, we'll look at it together. Below 10 a week for eight weeks, we collect it.
  • You pay the powerIts electricity is about £210 a year at today's prices: 58p a day.

Eat it cold, or heat it later

Every bowl is ready to eat cold, straight from your fridge. Members who'd rather have it hot can heat it at home or at work: the instructions are on the label.

No microwave as standard

If a microwave is offered for heating them, the bowls count as hot food for VAT, and at a VAT-registered gym that VAT (£1.50 on a £9 bowl) would be more than your whole 15%.

Not VAT-registered? Ask us.

Heating at home or work

Take out the pots, lift a corner of the lid and microwave until it's steaming hot all the way through, stirring halfway. Times are on every label.

More than a fridge

Stocking us brings online customers to your door, and gives your trainers a way to earn.

A pickup point for online orders

Members can order a pack online and pick it up from your fridge on a drop day, free. That's someone coming through your door with a reason to be there.

Your PTs can earn too

Personal trainers register for a member number and their own code. Their clients get £5 off a first online order of £40 or more, and the trainer earns 50p a bowl for 12 months. Codes work online, not on bowls from your fridge.

How the PT scheme works

Cooked, chilled and labelled before it reaches you. Here's what's on every bowl and what's in each one.

  • Use by 3 daysCounting the day it's cooked. We take every bowl out before its date, never after.
  • Labelled in fullIngredients with allergens in bold, the use-by date, storage and heating instructions, and the macros on the lid.

Quick questions

What does it cost us to start?

Nothing up front. We lend the fridge, deliver it and stock it. You pay its electricity and the card fees on what you sell.

What if the bowls don't sell?

That's on us. It's sale or return: anything unsold comes back before its use-by date, and you only pay for what sells.

How do we pay you?

Members pay you £9.00 a bowl at your desk or till. You keep 15% (£1.35 a bowl), and once a month we invoice you the other 85% (£7.65 for each bowl sold).

What does the fridge need?

A spot near a plug socket. It's an upright, glass-door fridge of about 218 litres, and it locks for when nobody's on the desk.

Do we need to register with the council?

Selling food usually means registering with your council as a food business, at least 28 days before you start. It's free, and we'll help you with it.

How far do you deliver?

We supply gyms within 20 miles of our kitchen, with two drops a week.

We're a farm shop, not a gym. Can we stock you?

Yes, on the same sale-or-return terms. The free fridge is for gyms, so you'll need space in your own fridge at 0–5°C. Use the form below.
